Jessica and Derek had their wedding in the U.S., but they wanted something extra special for their honeymoon, so they decided to fly out to Cancun for an epic sunrise photo session on Isla Mujeres. The best part? They wore their wedding dress and suit again! It was such a unique way to make even more memories, and the location couldn’t have been more perfect.
We started super early to catch the sunrise, and wow, it was so worth it. As the sun came up, the whole sky lit up in these beautiful colors, and the turquoise water of the Caribbean looked insane. But the coolest part was that we didn’t just stay in one spot. We drove around the island scouting different locations to get a nice mix of backgrounds for the session. The cliffs at Punta Sur were amazing. With waves crashing against the rocks, it was so dramatic and made for some really epic shots. Then we went to this quiet beach with white sand and super clear water—it felt so peaceful and romantic.
We also wanted to add some tropical vibes, so we found areas with lots of greenery and tall palm trees, giving the photos a fresh, jungle-like feel. Each location brought something different, and it made the whole shoot feel like an adventure.
